Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada, is seeking applicants for a Web College Program Manager. This position reports to the Associate Dean of the Learning Commons. As the WebCollege Program Manager, you will lead the strategic planning, development, and oversight of the College's distance education program, related resources, and support services. This role requires you to be a proactive thinker with strong project management skills, a tech-savvy approach to education, and a commitment to collaboration. As manager, you are responsible for ensuring program alignment with institutional goals, while supervising and supporting a dedicated team to enhance the student and faculty experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Design, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Three years of experience in a related position.
3. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in Higher Education, especially at a two-year college.
2. Familiarity with Canvas or equivalent LMS.
3. Familiarity with the Quality Matters rubric and QM course certification process.
4. Comfort with and an ability to learn and provide support for a variety of current and emerging technologies
5. Knowledge of accessibility and ADA requirements for online course delivery.
6. Previous management and/or supervisory experience.
7. Experience performing and/or managing curriculum development, instructional design, online course facilitation, and digital tool adoption.
8. Familiarity with Open Educational Resources (OER).
9. Experience with data management, analysis, and reporting.

Work Environment/Schedule:
1. This position requires teamwork, supervision, and personal interaction. As such, regular and predictable on-site attendance is required.
2. Ability to meet a flexible work schedule. Some evenings or Saturday hours may be needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervises Staff:
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and mentorship to WebCollege staff.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations, set goals, and contributes to professional
  • development for team members.
  • Leads regular team meetings, provides support, and contributes to professional development
  • opportunities to ensure the teams effectiveness and growth.

2. Works Collaboratively:
  • Represents WebCollege on campus councils, committees, workgroups, and task forces as applicable.
  • Fosters and builds relationships on campus.
  • Works collaboratively with administrators and department heads to promote adoption of best practices for online learning and course design.
  • Collaborates with the IT department to evaluate and implement educational technologies that enhance the online learning experience.
  • Develops and maintains professional relations with in-state and regional counterparts,
  • consortiums, and work groups.
  • Works effectively with third-party vendors.

3. Leads Strategic Planning:
  • Develops and executes a strategic plan for WebCollege, aligning with the colleges mission and
  • strategic master plan.
  • Implements short and long-range goals.
  • Stays ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the quality and relevance of online programs, resources, and support.

4. Drives Program Development and Oversight:
  • Collaborates with academic departments to design and implement online courses, resources, and support.
  • Maintains and revises Faculty Standards for Online Instruction in collaboration with college stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Serves as the TMCC Quality Matters Coordinator (QMC), managing the budget related to QM course certifications, trainings, and professional development for WebCollege staff and TMCC faculty. Conducts QM course reviews, approves WebCollege QM professional development offerings, and requests approved courses from QM.
  • Manages the Distance Education budget, is the primary contact for WebCollege contracts, and ensures timely payment of those contracts.

5. Champions Project Management:
  • Supervises, leads, and coordinates the WebCollege staff to ensure the successful execution of
  • distance education initiatives, projects, and activities.
  • Develops project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring the timely delivery of milestones.
  • Supervises and directs the activities of WebCollege.

6. Empowers Faculty and Staff Support:
  • Works closely with faculty and staff to support the development and delivery of high-quality online courses.
  • Provides training, resources, and ongoing support to enhance faculty expertise in online pedagogy.
  • Oversees the coordination of technical support for faculty and students engaged in online programs.
  • Manages the college's digital Open Educational Resources (OER) Repository, together with Reference Librarians, to promote and support the adoption of OER by instructional faculty courses.

7. Ensures Quality Assurance:
  • Ensures a unified approach to high-quality standards in the online teaching/learning environment for teaching, course development, and the use of innovative educational technology.
  • Ensures the effective integration of learning management systems and other instructional technologies.
  • Conducts regular assessments, surveys, and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

8. Analyzes Data and Reports Findings:
  • Utilizes data analytics to assess the effectiveness of distance education programs, resources, and support and makes data-driven decisions.
  • Prepares and presents reports to senior leadership on strategic plan goals, key performance indicators, and program effectiveness.


Salary and Benefits Information:

Salary: $61,501- $76-876 initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience.
