Instructor of Viola

Position Summary
The Instructor of Viola works in collaboration with the Department of Music Chair, and the Coordinator of Instrumental Studies/Music Education in the instruction of all levels of applied lessons in viola.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Assisting in the redesigning of syllabi and course outlines for MUAP 1144-4255 Private Inst.: Viola; teaching all applied lessons in viola;
-Additional duties may include periodic string seminar classes, and coaching chamber ensembles (string quartet, piano trio, etc.);
-Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission;
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Masters degree from an accredited university, or equivalent professional performing experience.

Required Work Experience
Evidence of at least five (5) years of successful teaching in applied viola must be provided

Preferred Qualifications


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
Arranged, plus 1:30-2:45 pm Thursdays during the semester

Physical Demands
