The Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a full-time night radiologist to provide finalized reads with emergency department and emergency and critical care inpatient coverage.

Excellent time off! There are two positions available, in-house, or fully remote.

Schedule is 7-nights on and between 14-21 days/nights off.

For the in-house position, this is 15 weeks (about 3 and a half months) of night shifts and 37 weeks (about 8 and a half months) of vacation per year. The fully remote position is 17 weeks (about 4 months) of nights and 35 weeks (about 8 months) of vacation per year for the remote position.

The desired individual would enjoy reading challenging cases. Candidates should be comfortable interpreting the range of emergent cases to be expected at a tertiary care and Level 1 trauma center, including neuro CTA, body/trauma CTA, and transplant imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

On-site: A 7-person team provides night coverage at University Hospital (tertiary care and level-1 trauma, 10 pm to 7 am) and at Denver Health Medical Center (level-1 trauma, 9 pm to 7 am), seven nights a week with at least one attending and one resident at each site. On average, each team member performs 1 week at each site over 7 weeks.
Fully remote: a 3-person team provides night coverage at University Hospital from 10 pm to 7 am. On average, each team member works 1 out of every 3 weeks.
Interpretation of all emergent imaging studies performed, including MR, CT, US, and CR/DR examinations. Duties also include resident supervision and education.

Minimum Qualifications

Academic rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between the candidate and the department about previous experience and academic desires.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Senior Instructor

Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License by time of hire, ABR or AOBR Certification or eligible by time of hire, completed subspecialty fellowship by time of hire.
Competency is required in the interpretation of radiologic exams performed in the emergency and acute-care inpatient settings.

Preferred Qualifications

The individual would enjoy reading challenging cases and teaching residents in an environment that supports clinical research.

Assistant Professor

Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License by time of hire, ABR or AOBR Certification or eligible by time of hire, completed subspecialty fellowship by time of hire.
Competency is required in the interpretation of radiologic exams performed in the emergency and acute-care inpatient settings.

Preferred Qualifications

The individual would enjoy reading challenging cases and teaching residents in an environment that supports clinical research.

Associate Professor

Medical Degree or equivalent, Colorado Medical License by time of hire, ABR or AOBR Certification or eligible by time of hire, completed subspecialty fellowship by time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Professor

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Sr. Instructor: $400,000 to $450,000

Assistant Professor: $400,000 to $450,000

Associate Professor: $400,000 to $450,000

Professor: $400,000 to $450,000

Competitive yearly bonus (all ranks)
Extra elective internal moonlighting (all ranks)

Salaries are based on years of experience and are equal across all academic ranks.
