Job Summary


The Dual Credit Student Resource Specialist supports services related to students dually enrolled in both high school and college. The Dual Credit Resource Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the Gator Book Pack program and will support Financial Aid Swift Transfer (FAST), Grade Checks, and Gator Passes for dual credit students. This position reports to the Director of Dual Credit Services.

Duties/Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Gator Book Pack program, supporting faculty, staff, and students throughout the entire process.
  • Assist various aspects of the enrollment process for dual credit programs, including student admission and registration and degree audits.
  • Facilitate dual enrollment student application and registration processes and adheres to admissions, registration, and program policies and procedures as they relate to the dual enrollment programs and populations.
  • Maintain records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations, and provides accurate data for submission of state and federal reports dealing with dual credit programs.
  • Coordinate the submittal of admission documentation for dual credit students with ISD staff, and aids in the determination of student eligibility for enrollment in college courses.
  • Assist in the coordination of dual credit course scheduling to ensure the accuracy and currency of all information related to the scheduling of dual credit courses.
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of professional development training for ISD faculty and staff on topics related to dual credit programs.
  • Coordinate the collection and distribution of monthly grade reports and class rosters to ISD partners.
  • Coordinate the advising and registration of our Home School Dual Credit population with the Director of Dual Credit Services, the Statewide Dual Credit Directors, and the East Texas Regional Partnership Coordinator.


OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Travel regularly to various locations to fulfill position responsibilities. May travel outside the college's service area to attend special events on a limited basis.
  • Use interpersonal skills and make sound judgments to decide how duties and responsibilities are completed between coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, and customers.
  • Complete all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by LSCO.

  • Serve on committees as appropriate and as appointed by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of dual enrollment and early college high school programs.
  • Knowledge of the planning, implementation and monitoring of budgets in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rules, regulations and principles of the THECB, as well as other state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and other groups, as needed.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, ISDs, college employees or members of the community.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and extensive confidential data.
  • Proficient in the use of email, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.


Education

  • Associate's degree required.


Experience

  • Experience working effectively in a team environment with a student first focus.

Requires constant sitting, walking, seeing, standing, operation of office equipment, bending, stooping, sorting, and filing.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment, standard hours. Work schedule may vary during peak work periods of admission and registration time. Some local travel is required.
