POSITION: Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Education: Early Childhood Education Department; Business and Professional Studies Division; Lawrence campus (45 Franklin Street); MCCC/MTA DCE Unit Position.
SUMMARY: For Fall 2026, we are seeking an instructor for ECE271, Early Childhood Education Practicum 1. This course will be delivered in Spanish and requires in-person instruction on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm at our Lawrence campus (45 Franklin Street) and daytime availability to complete on-site observations at local early education settings (days/time vary). The faculty member will be required to teach the ECE Practicum 1 content, grade course assignments, complete observations of student teachers in ECE settings, and meet with site supervisors to discuss student progress. The required in-person evening meetings will take place on Mondays at our Lawrence campus on the following dates:
- September 14 & 21
- October 5 & 19
- November 2, 16, & 30
- December 7
REPORTS TO: Dean of Business and Professional Studies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
- Communicate fluently in Spanish (written and verbal) to effectively instruct, engage with, and support students.
- Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, and syllabus requirements.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field
- Prior teaching experience in a related discipline
- Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Community College teaching experience
- Experience with online and hybrid teaching and experiential learning
- Experience with Brightspace Learning Management System
- Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Northern Essex Community College does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).
Additional Information:
SALARY: $1,512.00/credit - $1,826.00/credit, per credit based on DCE step, per the DCE Contract, non-benefited.
