The Office of Student Activities and Development is responsible for organizing and promoting extracurricular events and activities for the campus community, as well as providing leadership opportunities for students including Student Government Association (SGA) - student leaders elected to represent the voice of the student body, Student Ambassadors - a peer to peer student mentor program, Campus Activities Board (CAB) and Clubs/Organizations. The Campus Activities Board (CAB) functions as a student-run programming board as a part of the Student Government Association under the advisement of the Office of Student Activities and Development. CAB works collaboratively to develop and plan programming to enhance student life for the STCC community.
As a member of the Student Activities team, the primary responsibility of the Staff Assistant (PT) is to provide students with engaging and meaningful experiences outside of the classroom that contribute to their personal, professional and academic growth. The Staff Assistant (PT) is expected to provide assistance and support to the Coordinator of Student Activities in relation to all student activities functions, including but not limited to assisting with virtual and on-campus activities and event registrations, marketing of events, advising student leader groups, overseeing student task deadlines and taking on or delegating tasks as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research, design, plan and implement programs each semester for both the in-person and on-line student population.
- Serve as Advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB), including hosting and facilitating CAB in-person and virtual events.
- Act as Co-Advisor for Student Government Association and Student Ambassador Program.
- Create digital designs and marketing/promotional material, in compliance with Title II regulations, for programs and events sponsored by the Office of Student Activities.
- Assist with all functions of hosting and facilitating programming initiatives from the Office of Student Activities.
- Prepare and manage online surveys (i.e. Google Forms), and interactive/gaming websites and office accounts.
- Participate in the selection and interview process of student leaders.
- Attend and assist with organization and facilitation of Student Leader training during the fall semester, including updating student leader training manuals.
- Attend meetings for SGA, Student Ambassadors and CAB and provide ongoing support and guidance to student leaders.
- Works in collaboration with other college-wide departments to engage the campus community.
- Assist in the coverage and management of general Student Activities Office operations as needed, which may include office clerical tasks.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Coordinator of Student Activities.

- Proficiency with graphic design software (Canva, Adobe illustrator, or Grackle)
- Typing and data entry skills.
- Familiarity with email, social media and web browsers.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience in event programming.
- Preferred experience working within a college Student Activities environment or Residential Life Office (including during undergraduate study).
- Preferred undergraduate involvement with clubs and organizations.
- Knowledge and understanding of a community college population, experience working with commuter and underserved populations is preferred.

Salary: $23.00 per hour, 18.5 hours per week. Specific work hours to be agreed upon.
