Job Description Summary:
Provides leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive web strategy that supports the college's marketing efforts, internal and external communication needs, and core values of the institution.
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
- Implements new technology, media, interactive research and emerging standards related to internet marketing and digital media.
- Develops annual and long-range plans to realize the web development components of the college's strategic goals for web based customer service, while implementing, and maintaining user-centered designs and interfaces for the college's top-level public facing websites and pages.
- Leads and manages the college's web presence through website deployment processes, content management system (CMS) maintenance and upkeep, CMS user training, advanced content maintenance, usability testing, adoption of accepted accessibility principles, and contributing to performance standards for site delivery.
- Deploys fully built websites, content updates, and system updates across public-facing web properties.
- Ensures requirements related to website development are developed and communicated with webmasters, web developers, and content managers.
- Provides statistical analysis of website traffic and usage in support of their department's initiatives, goals, and efforts.
- Assists in performing research for user interface design for websites and web applications.
- Plans, develops, implements, maintains, and supports in-house systems and applications which college-wide staff use for website construction and maintenance.
- May serve in a supervisory role for other web related workers including web content managers, front-end UI developers, etc.
Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of website planning, designing, development, and implementation.
- Standards based design and Section 508 compliance.
- Content management system (CMS) design and implementation.
- Statistical analysis and reporting of user trends and requirements of websites and web applications.
- Knowledge of user interface principles, including intuitive navigation schemes, accessibility, and usability.
- Current standards in relation to data security and protection.
- Processes for monitoring and troubleshooting web services.
Skills
- Maintaining an established work schedule.
- Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow through.
- Designing and developing web pages websites that meet the Chancellor's institution's requirements.
- Implementing websites that execute an extremely high level of design and information architecture knowledge.
- Reviewing web content and implementing corrections and updates as required.
- Providing support to administrative staff regarding the functional use of in-house systems.
- Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Technology Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications, query and control languages, programming languages, and database systems.
- Experience with programming languages including but not limited to PHP, JavaScript and HTML, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Required Work Experience
- Two years experience with programming languages Experience with programming languages including but not limited to PHP, JavaScript and HTML, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Experience with content management system (CMS) design and implementation.
Preferred Work Experience
- Two years supervisory experience.
- Experience with or in a marketing and/or team centered environment.
Education Requirements
- Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field with 15 hours of programming courses or a minimum of 2 years of related work experience in lieu of education.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.

Salary Range (PG 125)
$76,693 - $95,866
