Reporting to the Director of Career Services, the Senior Enrollment Counselor plays a pivotal role in supporting current and prospective students in their academic and career pursuits. This position supports key enrollment management functions including guiding current and prospective students as they explore and navigate academic programs. The Senior Enrollment Counselor provides counseling, guidance, and resources to students as they navigate career exploration, searches and preparation. This highly collaborative position is ideal for a detail oriented and results driven professional who prioritizes student success.
Responsibilities:
Career Services (60% of Role):
Assist current and prospective students and alumni with:
- Direct Career Counseling: Including the career exploration process, performing skills and interests assessments, identifying potential career paths, developing job search strategies, and preparing for internships and employment opportunities.
- Internship Exploration and Support: Identifying internship opportunities, navigating online career resources, and building professional networks. Provide support for faculty as they work with students on academic internships, practicums, clinical placements, etc.
- Workshops and Group Instruction: Designing, developing, and delivering workshops and training on resume writing, job search strategies, career exploration, interviewing, salary negotiation, professional networking, etc.
Support Career Services activities including, but not limited to:
- Networking Events and Career Fairs: Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to plan and implement career fairs, networking events, and employer engagement opportunities.
- Collaborative Engagement: Working cross-divisionally to develop career readiness initiatives, ensuring students have access to resources across campus.
- Data Tracking and Reporting: Tracking student progress, documenting counseling and advising activities, and collecting and reporting data to assess the effectiveness of career services programs.
- Promote Career Services: Actively promote career services to current and prospective students and alumni, ensuring awareness of available resources and opportunities for career development.
Enrollment Management (40% of Role):
Support prospective students and enrollment management functions through the following activities:
- Enrollment Counseling: Actively engage prospective students through their career and academic interests and skills to: detailing the college's academic and certificate programs, admissions process, and available financial resources.
- Application Review: Assisting with application review and processing, ensuring all necessary documents are submitted for enrollment.
- Outreach and Recruitment: Participating in enrollment activities such as high school visits, college fairs, and community outreach programs.
- Manage Student Caseload: Guiding and supporting prospective students through the enrollment process and new student onboarding.
- Enrollment Events: Participate in recruitment events, including open houses, campus tours, and new student orientation activities.
This position participates in department, division and college-wide meetings as well as committees and professional development opportunities as assigned. The Senior Enrollment Counselor (Career Services) performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which do not alter the basic level of the position.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Career Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in higher education, student services, career counseling, or admissions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication, presentation, and counseling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Experience with career counseling techniques and tools (e.g., career assessments, job search strategies), or other applicable counseling techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with higher education software systems (e.g., Colleague, CRM Recruit).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience working with a diverse, underrepresented and/or under resourced student population (e.g., first-generation, low-income students).
Preferred Qualifications:.
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Career Development, or a related field.
- Bi-lingual proficiency (Spanish speaking/writing)
- Experience in job placement and/or employer relations.
- Familiarity with career development platforms like Career Coach, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for recruitment and career services events.
- Strong commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.

Additional Information:
Salary: $64,160-$77,300 MCCC Grade 4. Salary will be commensurate on education and experience. 37.5 hours per week between 8 am - 5 pm. Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as demand dictates. https://www.mass.edu/forfacstaff/classificationspecs/home.asp#S
