Job Description
The Creative Services Specialist plays a key role in producing visually compelling and brand-aligned content that supports the College's communications and marketing goals. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, this position contributes to recruitment, advancement, and community engagement initiatives by designing print and digital materials, creating content for social media, and supporting multimedia storytelling.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of typography, visual design, page setting and copywriting, and should be able to apply primary design principles in creative and effective ways while maintaining brand standards and consistency. The Creative Services Specialist also assists with preparing materials for print production, maintaining visual consistency across platforms, and supporting the execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in graphic design, marketing, or communications.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience using graphic design and marketing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Express, and Canva.
- Proven, professional track record in developing graphic design materials for both print and digital applications.
- Experience ensuring content accuracy and alignment with brand tone and institutional style guides.
- Experience designing and executing creative marketing campaigns.
- Familiarity with technical tools for distributing marketing content and analyzing performance data including email marketing platforms, website CMS, and social media management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design branded print and digital materials including flyers, brochures, posters, ads, event signage, and web and social media graphics
- Support the creation of visual content for GBC's social media channels in coordination with the marketing team
- Prepare documents for professional print production, support in-house printing operations, and coordinate with external print and production vendors to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery
- Maintain the College's visual identity and ensure design consistency across platforms and projects
- Develop and maintain branded templates for internal and external use
- Organize and manage digital assets including photos, logos, templates, and design files
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand project needs and deliver creative solutions that align with institutional messaging, brand guidelines, tone and voice.
- Support the execution of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring timely and high-quality visual deliverables
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager to support social media calendars and campaign timelines
- Fulfill design requests in a timely, high-quality manner in accordance with brand standards and accessibility best practices
- Coordinate the placement of content with publishing and media partners including radio, out-of-home, digital platforms, print publications, and direct mail
Schedule:
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend hours to support events and special projects.
Travel
This position may require travel to other campus locations and throughout the service area, which could include occasional overnight stays with or without reasonable accommodation as per the Americans with Disabilities Act, . Travel is part of supporting students and programs across the region. A strong commitment to serving rural communities is essential.
Compensation Grade
Administrative Faculty - B
This is a 12 month "A" contract, 12 month contracts are used for year round programs.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $44,756 - $58,000.
Salary is based on relatable education and experience, internal equity and budgets.

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees
Great Basin College is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.

Newly hired faculty must assure that their official transcripts are sent by the degree granting institution(s) to Great Basin College Human Resources Office within 30 days from the effective date of employment. Regionally accredited institutions must have awarded academic degrees.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Any expense related to the evaluation will be the responsibility of the candidate.
