The Director of Early College Initiatives is responsible for coordinating, developing and facilitating dual enrollment and early college partnerships with local high schools, school districts, and with programs engaging out-of-school youth. The Director oversees specialized efforts, including specific district articulation and memoranda of understanding; works closely with STCC colleagues and partner high school staff/faculty to recruit students and guide them toward academic pathways in preparation for matriculation at Springfield Technical Community College; seeks funding opportunities; and prepares grant proposals and manages grant responsibilities. The Director is a collaborator with proven facilitation experience and a strong understanding of high school, higher education, and community college access. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director works in concert with key offices throughout the college (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar) as well as faculty, to sustain and scale efforts to increase high school student and youth adult credit attainment and workforce training at the college.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for leading the College's dual enrollment/early college initiatives.
  • Build relationships with key area high schools to manage early college enrollment.
  • Assessment of needs and opportunities; coordination internally with academic staff/faculty on pathways; contribute to marketing and promotion efforts; manage toward expansion goals.
  • Plan and manage dissemination of information about Early College opportunities to high school counselors, teachers and students, community agencies and the public.
  • Work cooperatively and in partnership with enrollment staff to ensure that special placement assessment and registration assistance is provided for dual enrollment students, including visits to area high schools in a timely manner to collect registration materials.
  • Provide leadership and administration for planning, developing, implementing, directing, monitoring, and reviewing K-12 career pathways, dual enrollment, and educational programming with local high schools, and school systems.
  • Represent the College at community events as needed.
  • Participate in Early College and Innovation Pathways meetings with DESE staff and partner institutions.
  • Collaborate with the Gateway to College director and coordinate course opportunities.
  • Review and, in collaboration with the Perkins Coordinator, manage the implementation of relevant partnership agreements and articulation agreements and ensure the development and smooth functioning of internal and external systems, structures and processes that support these agreements.
  • Ensure regular communication of program data to colleagues in Academic and Student Affairs. Produce internal and external evaluation reports.
  • Supervise, direct and evaluate Early College programs and staff.
  • Supervise, direct and evaluate College Now Dual Enrollment and the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP).
  • Prepare and manage budgets related to programs.
  • Review relevant data; assess and utilize.
  • Support diversity and address structural inequities in key student outcomes. As needed, draft and write grant proposals.
  • Monitor articulation agreements with high schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a high school or higher education environment?
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Proficiency with data.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and students.
  • Grant management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working a community college setting.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing dual enrollment/early college programs.
  • Supervisory experience.

Additional Information:
Salary: $75,000-$80,000 Annually. Salary commensurate on experience
