Job Description:


STCC is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator/Sr. Technical Specialist responsible for installing, configuring, securing, maintaining, and supporting the physical/virtual/cloud server infrastructure, storage and backup systems, directory/authentication services, group policies, network file share, etc. and implementation of new and special projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install, configure, maintain and support Windows/VMware network and virtual environments including hardware, operating system software and related applications.
  • Manage and monitor server operating systems ensuring all servers are properly updated and patched with the latest security releases.
  • Manage backup operations; SAN/NAS/cloud environments and backup and restore activities, configure and maintain file shares, database and application backups, regularly test and verify that the restore process is functional.
  • Manage Active Directory, ADFS, authentication services, domain controllers, WINS, DNS, DHCP, share permissions, and group policies.
  • Manage Dell KACE and antivirus/EDR applications and updates including application and patch deployment, antivirus management and system monitoring and alerting.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and disaster recovery information.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new server hardware and related software, coordinate with departments and outside vendors/agencies to obtain quotes and product details.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with department activities and projects, collaborate with IT staff, individuals/departments to resolve technical issues and communicate resolutions via ticket system.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Security, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience with Microsoft Windows architecture and AWS/cloud computing, SQL Server, Windows Server 2008/2012/R2/2016, Active Directory, Group Policies, SSO authentication, ADFS, DNS/DHCP, SAN/NAS, and VMware.
  • Microsoft certification (MCSA, MCSE) or other network certification preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards and practices related to IT Infrastructure security, state and federal regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, and risk management.
  • Must possess strong technical expertise to enable direct oversight and problem solving for all server infrastructure implementations, upgrades, and operational activities.
  • Participates in off-hours IT coverage for emergencies, system upgrades/updates/patches, power shutdowns, system testing.
