Job Summary
General Description
The Statewide Dual Credit Director serves as the primary point of contact for designated high school partners located outside the immediate service area of Lamar State College Orange. This full-time position is responsible for providing strategic support to faculty, students, and administrators at offsite high school campuses, with an emphasis on supporting dual credit high school CTE programs. The director will assist with academic support services, registration processes, advising coordination, and serve as a liaison to ensure consistent communication and alignment with institutional policies and procedures. Statewide travel to partner high school campuses is required.
Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the dedicated liaison to assigned remote high school partners offering dual credit courses, with an emphasis on supporting cosmetology programs.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Dual Credit Partnerships to coordinate and implement various recruitment programs and marketing strategies for academic and technical dual credit pathways at remote high school partners.
- Support high school instructors and counselors with dual credit implementation, troubleshooting, and policy guidance.
- Provide remote and in-person student support, including orientation to dual credit expectations, registration processes, and general academic advisement.
- Coordinate communication and support between high school staff and LSCO departments (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Advising, Learning Technology).
- Assist in monitoring student progress and grade reporting in coordination with instructional and administrative staff, working closely with the Director of Dual Credit Services.
- Support students and faculty during key academic periods such as registration, drop/add, and final grading through virtual or onsite assistance, working closely with the Director of Dual Credit Services.
- Facilitate periodic check-ins (virtual or on-site) to ensure dual credit program fidelity and support.
- Develop and maintain documentation, FAQs, and resource guides tailored to remote partner needs.
- Represent the college at statewide events or meetings as requested.
- Perform other dues as may be assigned.
- Serve on committees as requested.
- Maintain accurate logs of services provided and interactions with stakeholders.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
General Qualifications Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience
Minimum of three years in higher education, K-12 support services, or advising roles. Experience working with dual credit, early college, or college readiness initiatives strongly preferred. Skills in Microsoft Office applications. Three or more years of customer service experience and proficient skills in Banner, Blackboard, Argos, Excel preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Self-starter who demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills necessary to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. The individual should have a working knowledge of Texas dual credit policies and best practices, or the ability to quickly develop this expertise. Success in this role requires the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners, along with a strong commitment to student success and program quality.
The position requires excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as a high level of professionalism and customer service orientation. The Specialist must be a proactive problem-solver who can work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment. Proficiency in standard office technologies and educational systems is expected, along with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes as needed.

This position will require extensive travel to high school campuses located outside the immediate LSCO service area, spanning the state.
Physical Requirement
Requires constant movement and observation, operating computers, and audiovisual equipment, as well as various other instructional and office machines.
Security-Sensitive
This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.215.
Working Conditions
Must have access to a stable internet connection, a quiet workplace, and be comfortable using video conferencing tools and cloud-based systems. The employee must establish and maintain a private, secure work area in compliance with FERPA guidelines and institutional data security policies. May require occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate school events or advising sessions. Frequent travel to assigned high school campuses is required; reliable transportation is necessary.
