POSITION: Adjunct Faculty - Biology: Natural Science Department; Division of STEM; Haverhill Campus; MCCC/MTA DCE Unit Position.
SUMMARY: For Fall 2026, we are seeking an adjunct instructor for Human Biology (BIO101). This course will be delivered in-person on the Haverhill campus. The lecture portion of the course meets from 12:30pm to 1:45pm on Tuesday / Thursday. This course is part of our Early College program.
We are also accepting applications for our pool of Adjunct Faculty to teach various Biology Courses on an as needed basis for the Fall 2026 semester and beyond. Successful applicants would teach courses in Biology, or Anatomy and Physiology. Seeking instructors for primarily day and evening face-to-face classes, which could include Early College classes. Future possibility of online or hybrid instruction exists and would require successful completion of mandatory training. Adjunct faculty will engage in a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student success.

REPORTS TO: Dean of STEM
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
- Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, syllabus requirements, materials posted on the LMS, and required meetings.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience teaching in a related discipline at the college level
- Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with teaching high school students
- Community College teaching experience
- Experience with online and hybrid teaching and experiential learning
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Northern Essex Community College does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).
Additional Information:
SALARY: $1,512.00/credit - $1,826.00/credit, per credit based on DCE step, per the DCE Contract, non-benefited.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: As needed, based on departmental requirements and candidate availability.
