Job Description:


  • Provide high quality instruction related to basic to intermediate computer skill development and college/career readiness while utilizing diverse technology platforms. Instruction will vary from introductory to intermediate level topics such as basic computer skills, email, Windows, Microsoft Word, Google Suite, Internet and other software needs;
  • Support adult learners in identifying goals relevant to education, career readiness and career advancement while incorporating computer skills;
  • Create, develop and maintain syllabi, a curriculum map, assessments, weekly lesson plans and other instructional support for student success and retention;
  • Create accounts, support access and user knowledge with a variety of software including NorthStar Digital Literacy curriculum, Read Theory, typing.com, and other online tools. Proctor assessments in NorthStar Digital Literacy, Massachusetts Adult Proficiency Tests and other software as needed;
  • Work closely with Director, Assistant Director, Advisors, and staff members to maintain accurate student records including attendance, assessments, updated demographics, program completion and more;
  • Participate in planning and execution of department events such as assessment sessions, graduation, onboarding, and more;
  • Participate and provide input on program development, process and improvement Initiatives. Attend weekly and monthly staff meetings and participate in professional development;
  • Perform other duties as needed.



Requirements:


  • Bachelors' degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or Education with expertise in information technology, subject content areas;
  • At least one (1) year experience providing computer skill development, digital literacy or classroom instruction to a diverse and underrepresented population;
  • Excellent technology skills; proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, instructional videos, Google, Google Classroom, and other technology that supports student and staff technology development;
  • Positive attitude, patient, able to explain concepts to all learners;
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; strong leadership skills;
  • Must be committed to professional and program development, learner-centered teaching.

Preferred
  • Master's Degree;
  • Experience working in an Adult Education program;
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.



Additional Information:


SALARY: $25.00/hour non-benefited position

WORK SCHEDULE: 19 hours/week, 48 weeks

Monday to Thursday, 10:30 AM- 2:00 PM

Weekly Staff Meetings 8:30 - 9:30 AM

Monthly Meetings 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Working environment inside classroom/office space. Normally seated, standing or walking at will. Light Physical exertion.
